PURPOSE:To simultaneously treat nitrogen oxide and carbon monoxide by injecting NH3 into exhaust gas contg. nitrogen oxide and carbon monoxide and thereafter transmitting the mixture through a catalytic layer having combustibility for carbon monoxide and denitration properties. CONSTITUTION:Exhaust gas 2 produced in a gas turbine 1 is introduced into a waste heat boiler 3. A catalytic layer 8 treating CO and NOx simultaneously is provided to the boiler. An ammonia cylinder 6 and an injection nozzle 7 for ammonia are connected in the front stream side. As a catalyst used herein, the following catalyst is used wherein a mullite carrier is immersed in such sludge that hydroxide of zirconium, Co2O3 and V2O5 are made sludgy by water, dried and furthermore held at about 500 deg.C for about 1hr. Both components contained in exhaust gas can be treated without causing a side reaction of NH3 NO by adopting the above-mentioned constitution and a reactor is made small-sized. |
