PURPOSE:To prevent an image from deterioration due to the interference of an unerased signal and to suppress the increase of cost at its minimum by using a pair of the 2nd magnetic heads other than a pair of 1st magnetic head for recording video signals as erasing heads at the time of editing photographing. CONSTITUTION:An erasing signal generating circuit 26 is connected to a change- over switch 24. The output side of an erasing control circuit 27 having a command signal MOD input terminal 17, a picture recording/reproducing switching signal PB input terminal 28, a video head switching signal VH input terminal 29, and a sound head switching signal AH input terminal 30 is connected to a change-over switch 24 and respective constitutional elements in a video signal system and a sound signal system. A sound head 25 executes recording prior to recording by a video head 4 and a sound track and a video track are almost superposed. Thereby, the generation of rainbow-like noise on a screen can be suppressed by outputting a video signal erasing signal from an erasing signal oscillation circuit 26 through the change-over switch 24 and a recording amplifier 18 at the time of editing photographing.
