PURPOSE:To rapidly replace data without enlarging the size of the titled device by transferring an input data to a storage block in the first stage when none of the contents of the storage blocks coincides with the input data. CONSTITUTION:Shift-enable signals E2-E5 are determined simultaneously when one E1 is determined. The data used last is always stored in the storage block 1, and other data are sequentially stored in the block 2 and the following ones in the order of their uses, hence in the block 5 the data used in the farthest past is stored. When such data as not stored in any storage block is used, the data in the registers of all the storage blocks are shifted to the following stage, and the said data in the block 5 is removed. In such a way, a buffer memory device whose data-replacement is executed by LRU method is obtained.
