PURPOSE:To suppress surely the generation of an inversional phenemenon even if a tape with a low output is reproduced by inputting a carrier component to the 1st amplitude limiter through a gain control circuit and inputted a lower side wave component directly to a low pass filter (LPF) without passing the signal through the gain control circuit. CONSTITUTION:When the level of a reproduced output from a head 1 is low, a signal (lower side wave component) through the LPF 6 is dropped at its level due to the function of the AGC circuit 4 as compared with a signal obtained from an LPF 5 through the AGC circuit 4. Thereby, the mixing ratio of the lower side wave component to the synthesizing circuit carrier component obtained from a phase correcting circuit is dropped at the input of a synthesizing circuit 9. When the ratio of the lower side wave component is dropped, the lower side wave component can be increased as compared to the carrier component and supplied to the 2nd amplitude limiter 10. The drop of the lower side component displays an effect equivalent to a double limiter and the effect suppressing the inversional phenomenon can be improved.
