PURPOSE:To avoid abrupt torque fluctuations in acceleration and obtain smooth acceleration, by providing a control valve for opening and closing a communication passage for communicating among cylinders and control means for closing the control valve when accelerating operation of an engine is started. CONSTITUTION:A control valve 14 in a communication hole 13 is provided with an actuator 18. A negative pressure introduction passage 19 is provided with a 3 way solenoid valve 20 and a delay valve 21. When it is sensed that a control circuit 22 is transferred to accelerating operation based on an output from a throttle opening degree sensor 23 provided with a primary throttle valve 9, the control valve 14 is closed with delay after the timing when the primary throttle valve 9 and a secondary throttle valve 11 are opened completely. With such an arrangement, abrupt torque fluctuations are avoided when an engine is accelerated, whereby smooth acceleration can be ensured.
