<p>PURPOSE:To make any trouble on thickness of a sheet material obviable, by installing a controlling device which controls a conveying drive source and an alarm outputting device according to the detection result of a detecting device detecting displacement of the sheet material braking device installed in a conveying passage inlet. CONSTITUTION:To detect whether thickness of paper 1 is larger than the specified upper limit or not, such size of a detecting roller 6 whose dead load is capable of braking the paper of up to the upper limit is used, waiting till the paper 1 comes into contact with the roller 6 since conveyance has started, and if the roller 6 is displaced with output of a detector 8, it is judged that the paper 1 is out of the specified thickness, driving an alarm 16 at once, whereby a paper feed motor 16 is turned to off, suspending its feeding motion. Therefore, when the paper 1 is overthickness, it is informable to an operator and feeding motion is suspended so that any accident is obviable. On the other hand, in order to detect whether the thickness of the paper 1 is larger than the specified lower limit or not, such size of the roller 6, whose dead load is capable of braking the paper of up to the lower limit is used. And, a control paper 14 detects displacement of the roller 6 with the same procedure as aforesaid, and if it is not displaced, warning takes place and the paper 1 is braked to a stop.</p> |
