发明名称 LIQUID MATRIX DRIVING METHOD
摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce the rewriting time for a screen and to make display at large display capacity by putting all of desired picture elements once into an initial state and necessitating only the selection of two kinds of voltages in linear sequential driving. CONSTITUTION:The intersected point of a signal electrode 12 and a scanning electrode 13 is the picture element 14. The initialization period TIN determines the display state of a liquid crystal at a display on or display off state. The voltage to put the liquid crystal into the display on or display off state is successively impressed to the respective picture elements by linear sequential driving in a selection period TSL upon ending of the initialization operation. For example, the writing voltage of Vwsat(ON) or above is impressed in order to put the picture elements into the on state as the voltage to be impressed to the picture elements in the selection period TSL and the voltage of Vbth(ON) or below is conversely impressed thereto in order to maintain the picture elements in the off state when the liquid crystal is set at the display off state in the initialization period TIN. The voltage of Vwast(OFF) or below is impressed in order to put the picture elements into the off state as the voltage to be impressed to the picture elements in the selection period TSL and the voltage of Vbth(OFF) or below is impressed to the liquid crystal in order t conversely maintain the same in the on state when the liquid crystal is set at the display on state in the initialization period TIN.
