PURPOSE:To perform the midpoint detection of a point symmetric object at high speed by performing a process in two stages of accuracy utilizing a reducing and rotating readout possible memory. CONSTITUTION:An input picture is stored on a memory 1, and the input picture can be read out by rotating and reducing by unit of 90 deg.. The number of picture elements by every line of a data reduced with a recognition object detection part 2 are counted, and they are accumulated in order. Next, a line that becomes the same value as an accumulated value while rotating is found, and a position that is coarse in a longitudinal direction than a line number is found at positions of 0 deg. and 180 deg., and the position that is coarse in a lateral direction than the line number at the positions of 90 deg. and 270 deg. is detected. Next, the same process is performed with a lowered reduction ratio, and a midpoint position detection with high accuracy can be obtained by the arithmetic opera tion of a midpoint position arithmetic part 6. |
