The connector has a bottom plate (1) of insulating material in which are mounted two contact elements (3,4) having pins (5) which project downwards. The contact elements (3,4) have push-on contacts (6,7) which project along the bottom insulating plate (1). Each contact elements (3,4) has cutting edges for cutting through the insulating material surrounding, respectively, the outer and inner conductors of the coaxial cable. A cap (2) for connection to the bottom plate (1) has specially formed receiving spaces (9,11). At one end of the cap (2) is an opening for inserting the coaxial cable into the cap (2). In the direction of insertion there are several spaces with dimensions decreasing successively from the opening and which correspond to the outer dimensions of the prepared end of the coaxial cable. Slots which extend through certain of the spaces (9,11) receive the contacts (6,7) of the contact elements (3,4).
