The layered body has a parent body made of ceramic material and the coating of a metallic material, the parent body preferably consisting of a highly wear-resistant ceramic material, preferably silicon carbide and the coating of nickel. Hitherto, the combination of the good material properties of ceramic material, in particular of silicone carbide, and the good machinability and processability of metallic materials has been a problem. The invention provides for the coating to have a thickness of about 1-15 mm. Ceramic materials can advantageously be exposed in this way to increased working pressures (for example, around 20 bar) with longer service lives. The coating expediently consists of nickel because in this case it is possible to resort to a known technique. Furthermore, the coating may take place only in a subregion of the parent body. For example, the layered body can be constructed as a pump rotor (10), the coating (12) in the region of the rotor mounting being used to receive the threaded bore (11). The external coating of pump housings is also envisaged. <IMAGE> |
