The process, which improves the reinforcing power and dielectric character of the filler in vulcanisates of ethylenepropylene co-polymers, consists of (a) using sepiolite as the filler; (b) drying it; (c) suspending it with agitation at ambient temp.; (d) adding 2.5-10 wt.% pyridine deriv.; (e) agitating the suspension for less than 10 mins.; (f) separating the solid prod.; and (g) adding it as reinforcing filler to EP copolymer compsns. and vulcanising.
