The solar clock includes a dial (19) provided with hour graduations (20) and a stylus (12) arranged, with respect to the dial, so that its shadow is projected thereon by the sun. A series of light sources (21) are distributed over the dial opposite its graduations. When a photoelectric diode (22) signals that the intensity of the light received by the clock is below a specified level (disappearance of the sun), control electronics (23) turn on the light source arranged opposite the graduation of the dial which corresponds most closely to the current hour. <IMAGE>
