This branching terminal consists of a housing in which a channel is cut out for the main conductor and a further channel is cut out for the branching conductor. The channel for the main conductor has a U-shaped cross section, has teeth on its web, and has grooves with a sawtooth-like cross section on its two limbs. This channel has an associated insert part, which is provided on its two longitudinal face walls with corresponding sawtooth-like groove systems. In order to simplify the assembly of such a branching terminal, the invention provides for the housing 2 to have an H-shaped cross section, furthermore for the channel 2b for the branching conductor 4 to be configured in approximately the same way as the channel 2a for the main conductor 3 and to have the capability to be closed by an insert part 7, and for a contact piece 5 to be embedded in the housing 2 between the two channels 2a, 2b, the teeth of which contact piece 5 project into the two channels 2a, 2b. <IMAGE> |
