PURPOSE:To cause a magnetic head to be always cleaned under a state where a disk is rotated and the head is loaded, by applying abrasives to a fan-shaped part including an index hole starting from the central part of a recording medium. CONSTITUTION:Usually, a fan-shaped part 4 including an index hole 3 starting from the central part (a) of a disk 1 is not used for recording. Therefore, abrasives, such as blue powder, etc., is applied to the fan-shaped part 4. When the abrasives are applied to the fan-shaped part 4, a magnetic head is always cleaned while data reading and data writing are performed and it becomes unnecessary to use a cleaning disk for cleaning the head.
