PURPOSE:To add information on dates and outgoing sources without adversely affecting an effective screen and to communicate with each other by providing a means generating a character image pattern obtained by converting KANJI (Chinese character) into KANA (Japanese syllabary) in accordance with a resolution and character information. CONSTITUTION:Receiving information on the resolution capacity at a receiver side from a circuit control part 7, a control part 4 outputs outgoing source information added together with resolution information, and character information included in date information to a character image pattern generation part 5. Receiving the resolution information and the character information from the control part 4, the character image pattern generation part 5 judges that the resolution is a standard 3.85/mm or a high density 7.7/mm. If the resolution is the standard 3.85/mm, the part 5 judges whether a character is KANJI or ANK. If the character is KANJI, the part 5 generates a KANA image pattern which is a homonym or synonym for said KANJI. If the character information is ANK, the part 5 generates a character image pattern as it is. If the resolution is the high density 7.7/mm, a character image pattern is generated as it is.
