PURPOSE:To make the liquid amount sensor and the electric wiring for detection of liquid amount unnecessary, by possessing a judging means in which a recording liquid feed time is judged from a calculated recorded amount and a preset value and a control means in which a recording liquid feed mechanism is driven according to the judgment. CONSTITUTION:The necessary number of dots for full printing of all the surface of a recording paper 2 is set as a set value SA. The number of dots capable of being printed when a small tank is filled with recording liquid is made to be an initial value, each '1' is decremented from the initial value thereof every time the dot output signal D supplied from a control circuit 9 to a recording head 3 is received, and the result of subtraction is outputted as a dot number C. A comparator 23 compares the set value SA from a setter 21 with the residual dot number C from a down counter 22. When the number C of residual dots becomes the set value SA or under, a comparison signal C1 is sent to a control circuit 9. By receiving the recording paper feed instruction H from the control circuit 9, a recording liquid feed mechanism 24 moves a carriage 1, joins tubes 7A, 7B to tube receivers 8A, 8B and feeds the recording liquid from a tank 6 to a small tank 4. |
