The fine glass particles thus formed are deposited on the porous glass forming part 5a of the core material 5 to deposit the porous glass body 6. Plural nozzles 7 for injecting the compressed gas of an inert gas, etc., against the core material 5 at uniform pressure are annularly provided around the core material 5 immediately under the reaction vessel 2, and the core material is supported without contact by the uniform pressure of the compressed gas from the periphery. |
