PURPOSE:To diagnose a fault even if this fault influences an external storage, etc., by storing a fault diagnostic program into a storage after turning it into a ROM and connecting this ROM to a bus together with a central controller, a terminal control interface device, etc. CONSTITUTION:A central controller 2 is provided to control the programs which are connected to each other via a bus 1 together with a storage 3 containing a ROM circuit 31 which stored fixedly a fault diagnostic program, a terminal control interface device 4, a main storage 6, and a relative device 7. The circuit 31 stores a monitor program 32 and a test program 33 as the fault diagnostic programs. When a process program has a fauler, the controller 2 shifts the control to the program 32 of the main storage 3 from the main storage 6. Then the program 33 is started under the control of the program 32, and the fault is diagnosed for each device with an instruction of a maintenance enginner received from a terminal 5. As a result, the fault is diagnosed regardless of the influence of the fault to a system. |
