<p>NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R<1> represents H or acetyl; Q represents (substituted) pyridinio], salt thereof and physiologically hydrolyzable ester thereof. EXAMPLE:7-[2-(2-Aminothiazol-4-yl)-2-(3, 4-dihydroxybenzyloxyimino)acetamido]- 3-(1-pyridinio)methyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylate (syn-isomer). USE:An antimicrobial agent against Gram-positive bacteria and Gram-negative bacteria with sensitivity and resistance. PREPARATION:A compound expressed by formula II (R<2> represents H or OH- protecting group; R<3> represents H or carboxyl-protecting group; R<4> represents H or amino-protecting group; X represents halogen atom or eliminating group; Y represents S or SO) or salt thereof is reacted with a pyridine derivative optionally having a protected substituent to form a compound expressed by formula III [Q' represents (substituted) pyridinio; X represents anion], followed by reduction and/or elimination of the protecting group as necessary.</p> |
