PURPOSE:To improve groove wander performance without varying wet-skid performance by considering a groove pitch and a groove width on a road surface and determining the position and width of a groove in the tread pattern of tire. CONSTITUTION:Two main grooves 3, for example, are provided in an annular form in the circumferential direction of tire, on the surface of a tread 1, i.e., the ground contacting face 2 of tire. On the other hand, longitudinal grooves 5 having a defined groove width (b) are provided at a defined groove interval (a) on a road surface 4. In this structure, the groove width of the main groove 3 is made larger than the groove width (b) of the longitudinal groove 5, and the position of the main groove 3 is specified by Ai, Bj which satisfy the following formula: an+(b+2)<=Ai<=a(m+1)-(b+2)an-b<=Bj<=an+b, where, Ai, Bj are dimensions between rib edges which are larger than zero in the same and opposite directions respectively, (m), (n) are zero or a natural number, and (i), (j) are 1, 2, 3.... |
