MANUFACTURE OF CYLINDER HEAD

PURPOSE:To manufacture a cylinder head with stabilized product quality at low cost by forming the cylinder head using a metallic mold and cutting angular projected parts bending from port inlets to combustion chamber sides to be formed into smoothly curved shapes. CONSTITUTION:An original form of a cylinder head is cast by pouring molten metal of aluminum or the like into a metallic mold. Then holes 10 and 11 for embedding intake and exhaust valve guides are machined and intake and exhaust valve seats 12 and 13 are embedded. And angular projections 40 and 41 at joining parts between lower intake and exhaust passages 24 and 25 and upper intake and exhaust passages 26 and 27 are cut with a cutting tool to be formed into smooth shapes. Since the product is manufactured using a metallic mold, it is possible to reduce variance in the product quality at low cost as well as reducing intake and exhaust resistance.
