PURPOSE:To make paper sheet feed operation effectively, by automatically effecting processes such as scoring, splicing, preventing loosing of a remaining core and discharge of the remaining core by chucking a new winging paper transported to a turret arm when a winding paper is supplied to a printing machine. CONSTITUTION:A new winding paper P having a feeding edge provided with a loose preventing tape and a position sensing mark is supplied to a prescribed position of a paper feed unit 1. Then, the new winding paper P is lifted by a lift 8 to be chucked to a turret arm 22. Next, only adhesive layers of a pressure sensitive double coated tape are stuck and the loose preventing tape is scored along the edge of the new winding paper feed extreme end by a gluing and scoring unit 25. After the new winding paper has been moved to a paper splicing position, a paper splicing unit 26 is turned so that the side edge positions of a traveling paper and the new winding paper P are aligned and the new winding paper P is connected to an old winding paper by actuating the brush 28 of the paper splicing unit 26 and a cutter 28. After that, the loose preventing tape is wound around the remaining core of the old winding paper and then the remaining core is discharged from the turret arm 22.
