PURPOSE:To reduce the operating load for an input job of documents by repeating the reproduction of the same voice until the converting process is through after a character string is supplied according to the reproduced sounds and every time the reproduction is through with reproduction of voices for each prescribed section. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 10 performs the overall control of a document processor as well as various types of document processing including the KANA (Japanese syllabary)/KANJI (Chinese characters) conversion. A voice producer 20 receives the reproduction start signal to carry out reproduction and receives the reproduction stop signal to interrupts the reproduction and to rewind a CMT down to the reproduction start position of a relevant sentence. Then the reproducer 20 receives the reproduction restart signal to feed fast the CMT up to the voice reproduction start position for the next input sentence. The reproduction stop signal is delivered with combination of specific keys and the reproduction start signal is delivered with operation of a conversion key in a state where the character string to be converted is not supplied yet to an input buffer 15. While the reproduction restart signal is delivered by the conversion ending timing after the character string is stored in the buffer 15.
