PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body high in sensitivity and durability by incorporating a hydrazone compound represented by a specified formula in a photosensitive layer formed on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer formed on the conductive substrate contains one of the hydrazone compound represented by formula (I) in which A is H, optionally substituted alkyl, or such phenyl; B is optionally substituted alkyl, such aryl, allyl, propargyl, propenyl, or optionally substituted benzyl; R is H, alkyl, optionally substituted phenyl, allyl, or optionally substituted benzyl; and each of R' and R'' is H, halogen, nitro, cyano, alkoxy, or alkyl. The photosensitive body is prepared by forming a photosensitive layer containing this hydrazone compound and a film-forming polymer binder, such as styrene resins, on the conductive substrate, such as a metallic drum, metallic plate, paper, plastic film, or belt subjected to treatment for giving conductivity, thus permitting the photosensitive body to be superior in temperature stability, high in electrifiability characteristics, and to be hardly deteriorated in photosensitivity by repeated uses. |
