PURPOSE:To obtain a light frequency spectrum analyzer having an absolute accuracy and a high accuracy, and a high resolution, by bringing an incident light to a deterodyne detection by using an optical output of a local oscillating part. CONSTITUTION:The titled analyzer is provided with an optical heterodyne detecting part 4, a filter part 5 for inputting and amplifying an electric output of the heterodyne detecting part 4 and also having a band pass characteristic, a detecting part 6 for inputting an electric output of the filter part 5, and a signal processing/display part 7 for inputting the electric output of the detecting part 6. A frequency resolution of a light frequency spectrum analyzer is determined by a spectrum width of an output frequency omega0 of a local oscillating part 3 and a band width of the filter part 5. The spectrum width of omega0 is determined by a variable wavelength light source of a light frequency synthesizer, and by using an external resonator type laser diode for said light source, an excellent frequency resolution (10<-12>) can be obtained. |
