PURPOSE:To issue the alarm for the lifetime of a brush positively by setting the control mode of the abrasion of the brush at either of an operating-time control mode or a starting-number control mode in response to the mode of the service of a motor. CONSTITUTION:A brush-abrasion controller for a motor is constituted of an input section 1, a central processing unit (CPU) 2, a starting-number counter 3, an operating-time counter 4, first and second brush-abrasion checking sections 5-6, a control-mode selecting section 7, etc. When a starting-number control mode is set by the mode selecting section 7, the CPU 2 subtracts integrating starting number counted by the starting-number counter 3 from predetermined brush-lifetime starting number and computes the degree value of abrasion of a brush. When an operating-time control mode is set, the CPU 2 subtracts the integrating time from the prescribed brush-lifetime operating time and computes the degree value of abrasion of the brush. Accordingly, both modes are selected in response to the state of the service of the motor, thus positively controlling the abrasion of the brush. |
