PURPOSE:To provide a small lead-acid battery by forming an exhaust valve in a back seal having cylindrical structure formed by sealing both ends of a folded plastic film or sheet. CONSTITUTION:A plastic film or sheet is folded and formed in a cylindrical bag 11 by a back seal 12. The upper and lower sealed parts 13, 14 are sealed to form a lead-acid battery 10. In the back seal 12, an unsealed part 15 is left near the upper end and silicone oil is poured in the unsealed part 15 to form an exhaust valve. In the upper sealed part 13, an unsealed recess 16 is left, and the exhaust valve 15 is connected to the inside of the battery through the unsealed recess 16. The gas evolved in the battery is exhausted outside through the unsealed recess 16 and the exhaust valve 15. The outer air is shut off by the silicone oil in the exhaust valve. Since side seals on both sides of a plate group are eliminated, the battery is made compact. |
