PURPOSE:To simplify positioning adjustment or the like in a transfer device for thick film integrated circuits by combining crank chains and a specific cam mechanism to move carrying rails in a rectangular orbit so as to move substrates on fixed rails in a stepping manner. CONSTITUTION:Moving shafts 6, 6 are connected in a straight line by carrying rails 8, 8, and the carrying rails 8, 8 are moved in a vertically swinging manner by crank chains 5, 5. Then, substrates are supplied onto the carrying rails 8, 8 at predetermined intervals. At the same time, rotation of a drive shaft 10 causes the carrying rails 8, 8 along with the moving shaft 6 to reciprocate in the forward and backward direction in a predetermined stroke L. At this time, at both ends of the stroke, a journal portion 19 is vertically restricted in a portion of a circular orbit under the action of a restricting plate 24. This causes the carrying rails 8, 8 to intermittently move in a stepping manner in a rectangular orbit to advance the substrates. This construction facilitates adjustment such as of positioning, resulting in improvement of accuracy.
