PURPOSE:A skin marker that has strong NMR signals and X-ray impermeability enough to make it clearly distinguishable from skin surfaces of living bodies, and is readily cuttable into any required shapes with good shape retention, thus being used in both NMR and X-ray diagnoses. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution containing 8wt.% to 20wt.% of a polyvinyl alcohol whose saponification degree is more than 98 mole% and polymerization degree is more than 1,000 is poured into a vessel made of a plastic or rubber in which a X-ray impermeable and nonmagnetic material is embeded. Then, the filled vessel is solidified by freezing to lower than -10 deg.C, formed, then thawed and the operations are repeated 1-8 times to give the objective skin marker for X-ray image diagnosis and NMR CT diagnosis. EFFECT:The marker is very easily storable without change in the high water content for more than half year in the vessel, and emits strong NMR signal clearly distinguishable from the sking of living bodies.
