<p>A papermaker's felt is formed by a base layer of fabric clad on one or both sides with a compressible batt layer. The batt layer is formed from a mixture of fibres, one of which is present in much smaller quantities than the remainder and is fusible at a temperature below the melting point of the remainder so as to bond the latter together and to the base fabric upon heating of the felt.</p> |
