PURPOSE:To obtain a high strength bearing at a reduced cost by irradiating laser light on the contact surface of a bearing to form voids each having a fine hole that reaches the surface and by filling lubricating oil into the voids. CONSTITUTION:Laser light is intermittently irradiated on the bearing surface of a metallic body 1 forming a bearing to scan the surface. The irradiated parts are locally melted by heating and voids 2 each having a fine hole 3 that reaches the surface and grooves 4 are formed. Lubricating oil is then filled into the voids 2.
