<p>PURPOSE:To simplify the entire constitution of the titled processor by adopting transform coding using orthogonal transformation as a compression method and using an orthogonal transformer for a picture processing section and a picture compression and restoration section in common. CONSTITUTION:The picture processing unit consists of a picture input section A, a picture processing section B, a picture compression and restoration section C and a picture storage communication section D. The picture processing section B consists of a picture processor 3, an orthogonal transformer 4, a weighting device 5 and an orthogonal inverse transformer 6, and the picture compression restoration section C comprises an orthogonal transformer 4, a weighting device 5, an orthogonal inverse transformer 6, a coder 7 and a decoder 8. A frequency processor comprising the orthogonal transformer 4, the weighting device 5 and the orthogonal inverse transformer 6 is used in common for the picture processing section B and the picture compressor and restoration section C.</p> |
