PURPOSE:To prevent poor color development and poor desilvering and to obtain a color image superior in image fastness by processing a photosensitive material with a bleaching bath regulated in the oxidation reduction potential of the bath within +150--50mV. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive material is processed in the bleaching bath while the bath is controlled within the oxidation reduction potential range of +150--50mV. Various structures of couplers each having the ligand of a metal ion are considered, and above all, preferable compounds are represented by formula (I) in which LIG is a group reacting with the metal ion and forming a complex compound; A is a coupler residue; LINK is a bonding group linking LIG with A; and n is 0 or 1. This compound can be used for optional layers, such as silver halide photosensitive layers high or middle in sensitivity, or its adjacent layers, and it is added, preferably, in an amount of 1X10<-7>-0.5mol per mol of silver halide contained in the same layer or its adjacent layer. |
