PURPOSE:To make it possible to set a cycle time of a drive element such as a facsimile stamper or the like, by heating shape memory alloy coils connected in series, alternately and repeatedly to drive the same bidirectionally. CONSTITUTION:When a switch 1 is turned on, a shape memory alloy coil 3 is energized and heated to elongate, and therefore, a stamp 6 prints a mark on the surface of a sheet 7 by means of the support rod 5. When the switch 1 is turned off to deenergized the coil 3, and then when a switch 2 is turned on, a shape memory alloy coil 4 is energized and heated to elongate, and therefore, the stamp 6 is separated from the surface of the sheet 7 by means of the support rod 5. With the repetition of turn-on and -off of these switches 1, 2 it possible to perform printing operation at a predetermined cycle time. Thus, it is possible to arbitrarily set the cycle time, that is, the cycle time is made to be constant or shorter.
