PURPOSE:To limit a faulty location of a packet transmitter by providing a part describing a reception reply from a slave station to an area of a frame and receiving and verifying the information of the part by a master station. CONSTITUTION:An area 2 not assigned with line exchange and packet exchange data consists of a frame synchronizing code part 3, a loop state supervisory control part 4 and a reception reply part 5 at slave stations 12, 13, 14 to a diagnostic packet sent from the master station 11. That is, the area 2 is utilized to information the reception reply to the diagnostic packet sent from the master station 11 to the master station 11, the result of check of the result of reception reply in the slave stations 12, 13, 14 is referenced and the faulty part of a packet transmitter is located on the loop transmission line 10. Further, as the faulty part is limited, the disconnecting of the faulty station from the loop transmission line is attained by a command from the master station 11, accordingly the fault is restored as the loop transmission system.
