PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition having a high hardness and excellent vibration-damping performance and compression set, by adding a vulcanizer to a diene rubber. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. diene rubber such as natural rubber, polybutadiene or polychloroprene is mixed with 3-25pts.wt., preferably, 8-15pts.wt (in terms of effective sulfur) sulfur or a sulfur-generator having a structure of -Sx- (wherein x>=2) in the molecule (e.g., 4,4'-dithio-bis-dimorpholine) and, optionally, a reinforcement, filler, softener, plasticizer, tackifier, etc. In this way it is possible to produce a rubber composition which is one tenth-fold at maximum in resiliency, about five-folds in mechanical loss tangent and better in permanent compression set as compared with a conventional rubber.
