PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal transfer recording medium capable of reproducing colors with higher fidelity and higher color density and having higher preservation stability, by incorporating a specified coloring matter into a coloring material layer, in a thermal transfer recording medium which comprises at least one heat-fusible coloring material layer on a base. CONSTITUTION:A coloring matter of general formula (I), wherein each of R1, R2, R5 and R6 is a halogen, alkyl, alkoxyl, aryl or aralkyl, each of R3 and R4 is an alkyl, aryl or aralkyl and each of n1-n4 is 1 or 2, is incorporated in a coloring material layer, in a thermal transfer recording medium which comprises at least one heat-fusible coloring material layer on a base. Recorded images obtained by the thermal transfer recording medium comprising the coloring matter have a clear yellow color, so that when the recording medium is combined with thermal transfer recording medium comprising a magenta coloring matter and a cyan coloring matter, respectively, a full-color image can be obtained with favorable color reproduction properties. |
