OPTICAL RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To reproduce optical recording with high density and large capacity by rotating a plane mirror with a tilt of 45 deg. with respect to an optical axis around the center of a laser light incident on the plane mirror to use a minute spot for high speed scanning. CONSTITUTION:The laser light from a light source 101 is reflect by a mirror 106 driven with a tilt of nearly 45 deg. to the optical axis 111 to form a beam spot 100 having nearly 1mu diameter on a recording medium 108 wound around a cylinder 113 with an equal interval from the optical axis by a converging lens 105 in two-dimensional way. Further, the reflected light of the beam tracing on the medium follows a reverse optical path to form a reproducing image of the beam spot on an photodetector 110 by an image forming lens 109. Even when the mirror 106 and the lens 105 are driven by a motor 107 at a high speed, no friction with the medium 108 is caused and optical recording/ reproduction with high density and large capacity is attained by using a minute spot for high speed scanning.
