Method for controlling the charging process of an accumulator (a rechargeable battery)

In order to determine the time for switching off the charging process of an accumulator, the subelements of the charge quantities which have been charged are assessed with a charging efficiency and the values obtained are added up until 100% of the capacity of the accumulator is reached. In order to correct the charging efficiency, the actual capacity of the accumulator is determined whenever the accumulator is discharged, the charging efficiency is varied by a small amount, and the influence of the variation on the determined capacity is found.
