PURPOSE:To improve surface gloss during storage after processing by incorporating a water-soluble or water-dispersible block copolymer composed of a polyvinyl alcohol type polymer and a polymer having ionizable groups in a hydrophilic colloidal layer containing an oil component. CONSTITUTION:The photographic sensitive material obtained by coating a support with at least 2 hydrophilic colloidal layers, at least one of them contains the oil component, and this layer or its adjacent hidrophilic colloidal layer contains the water-soluble or water-dispersible block copolymer composed of the polyvinyl alcohol type polymer as one component, and the polymer having the ionizable groups as the other component. It is effective for the block copolymer to be contained in the protective layer of a color photographic sensitive material, and the binder of this hydrophilic colloidal layer is composed essentially of gelatin, and it is preferred to use the block copolymer in an amount of 0.5-40wt% of the sum of the gelatin and the block copolymer, thus permitting the surface gloss during storage after processing to be improved without substantially lowering the maximum color development density. |
