PURPOSE:The titled pollution-free composition of oxidation, curing type having improved water dispersibility and shelf stability, obtained by neutralizing a mixture containing both an aqueous resin obtained by maleinizing a specific esterified substance and a specified alkyd resin in a specific ratio and dispersing the neutralized mixture into water. CONSTITUTION:A mixture or a reaction product of (A) 10-70wt%, preferably 15-55wt% aqueous resin (preferably having 20-80 acid value) obtained by maleinizing an esterified substance of a (semi-)drying oil fatty acid (e.g., benzoic acid, etc.,) and an allyl alcohol-aromatic vinyl copolymer and (B) 30-90wt%, preferably 45-85wt% alkyd resin (preferably having Gardner viscosity of O-Z4) containing 30-75wt%, preferably 40-65wt% of the above-mentioned (semi-) drying oil fatty acid component is neutralized and dispersed into water to give the aimed composition.
