A low-pressure die-casting machine comprises a die-supporting structure rotatable about a horizontal axis (27) between a position in which the die engages the open end of a duct (3) leading into a melting-pot in a furnace (1) and a position in which the duct is exposed, molten metal being expelled upwardly by gas pressure applied to the furnace when the die is in said first position. The duet is loosely mounted in an opening (5), Fig. 3, in the furnace with seatings (4) therearound and the upper end of the duct has a spherical surface which engages a spherical surface in the die pot 6. The duct may have three aligned sections (3a, 3b, 3c) with curved seating surfaces between the parts 3a and 3b. |
