PURPOSE:To prevent a film feeding mechanism from being overloaded by providing a film cartridge with a means which starts control over the rewinding of a film after a film provided with the coded number of photographable frames is exposed to the number of photogrphable frames or up to the maximum of 36 frames. CONSTITUTION:A film quantity reading means DXFLM reads a film quantity and sends film quantity information to a control means 3 composed of, for example, a microcomputer. A film feed detecting means 8 which detects the feed state of a film sends the number of exposed frames to the control means 3. When the number of exposed frames coincides with the quantity information from the film quantity reading means DXFLM, or when the film is exposed to 36 or the limit number set in the control means 3, a rewinding motor MC is driven to rewind the film. Consequently, the film feeding mechanism is prevented from being overloaded.
