PURPOSE:To attempt a reduction in and smoothing of the rotary speed of an engine at no load running by providing a control valve which is opened and closed by a signal corresponding to both the rotary speed of the engine and load in a passage bypassing a space between the downstream side of a supercharging pressure cylinder and a suction pipe in the upstream side. CONSTITUTION:When a high load operating area is judged by means of the opening of a throttle valve and the like, a servo motor 15 is driven to be closed for closing an opening/closing valve 14 so as to feed a supercharged mixture to No.1 and No.3 cylinders 2 and 4 by means of a supercharging action of No.2 cylinder 3. When either a low load or no load is judged, the servo motor 15 is driven to be closed so as to open or fully open the opening/closing valve 14 in such a way that the rotary speed of an engine is made to be much less than a specified value. Subsequently, pressure supercharged by No.2 cylinder 3 is freed to a primary side suction passage 7 for suspending supercharging so as to accomplish a reduction in the rotary speed of the engine and its smooth rotation at no load running.
