PURPOSE:To prevent chattering operation of a ventilating fan due to a change in humidity and to prevent a control device from being limited by the installation position of a humidity detector, by a method wherein, when the output of the humidity detector in a room exceeds a given value, the ventilating fan is operated for a given time. CONSTITUTION:In control of a ventilating fan installed in a place, e.g., bath room, having humidity, when humidity in a room is increased, a humidity detector 4 is decreased in resistance, a shunt voltage generated by resistance of a resistor 12 and the humidity detector 4 is decreased, and when the resistance of the humidity detector 4 is reduced to a given value, a first timer 19 starts to measure time, and simultaneously a ventilating fan 3 is rotated by means of a power source 20. air in a room is sucked, as shown by arrow marks A and B, through a grill 6, and is exhausted through an exhaust pipe 7 to exhaust humidity. This state is continued until a time t11 being sufficient to allow exhaust of humidity in the room lapses. When the given time t11 lapses and measurement of a time by the first timer 19 is completed, the ventilating fan 3 is stopped.
