PURPOSE:To change an on-load tap in an excellent voltage withstanding manner by providing a ringlike shield on a mounting washer such as a supporting insulator cylinder of a changeover switch. CONSTITUTION:A low voltage side ringlike shield 9 is mounted on an upper cover 1 via mounting fittings 13 around an insulating driving shaft 8 near a mounting washer 6, a low voltage side potential is applied to the shield. A high voltage side ringlike shield 10 is mounted via mounting fitting 14 around the vicinity of a changeover switch 3 of the shaft 8 while approaching a mounting washer 7, a high voltage side potential is applied to the shield 10, a high voltage side ringlike shield 11 is mounted by mounting fittings 15 around the outside of a supporting insulating cylinder 5 near the washer 7, and a high voltage side potential is applied to the shield 11. A high voltage side ringlike shield 12 is mounted by mounting fitting 16 around the outside of an insulating cylindrical vessel 2, and a high voltage side potential is applied to the shield. Thus, an on-load tap changer having excellent voltage withstanding property is obtained.
