CURING EPOXY RESIN COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition which has excellent storage stability and can be cured at relatively low temperature within a short time, by mixing a curing agent obtained by reacting a specified amine/epoxy adduct with a phenolic resin with an epoxy resin having vicinal epoxy groups. CONSTITUTION:An amino compound (A) of the formula (wherein R1 and R2 are each a 1-5C alkyl and X is a 1-5C alkylene) is mixed with 1-amino-4- ethylpiperazine (B) at an A to B weight ratio of 70/30-99/1. This mixture is reacted with an epoxy resin having more than one vicinal epoxy group, on the average, in the molecule at a ratio of 0.8$2 equivalent of the epoxy groups to one equivalent of the amino groups contained. 1pt.wt. obtained amine/ epoxy adduct is reacted with 0.1-0.8pt.wt. phenolic resin or polyphenolic compound to produce a curing agent. this curing agent is added to an epoxy resin having a plurality of vicinal epoxy groups.
