<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a novel additive by incorporating amorphous powder contg. SiO2, Al2O3 and CaO at specific ratios into the additive so as to make effective use of the residual slag to be generated in the stage of reaction for gasification of coal. CONSTITUTION:This additive contains the amorphous powder contg., per weight, <=60% SiO2, >=20% Al2O3 and >=5% CaO. This additive is usually produced by using the amorphous residue obtd. by partial oxidation of coal as a raw material. The residue may be straightly used as the additive but is preferably pulverized. The additive can be added to a molten metal for the purpose of removing the slag existing on the surface of the molten metal and for the heat insulation and oxidation prevention of the molten metal.</p> |
