PURPOSE:To prevent irregularity in a screen due to an electric field drop by making a storing means a reading state at the time when the electric field drops, and displaying the content of the storage as a still picture. CONSTITUTION:First, when the electric field is normal, a television signal A received through an antenna 1 is immediately converted to a video by a picture tube 9, and the video signals are written in the storing means 21 sequentially in the unit of one-field. Next, when the electric field drops and an electric field-level detecting means 25 outputs an electric field-level drop signal E, the means 21 is made in reading state during the following vertical retrace cycle, and a switching means 24 is turned to a storing means 21 side, hence a one-field- prceeding video signal stored in the means 21 is transferred to a video processing circuit 8 and turned to a video in the picture tube 9. This state is continued as long as the electric field drops, and a still picture is displayed on the picture tube 9.
