PURPOSE:To form a non-magnetic layer uniformly to a predetermined thickness and improve the abrasion resistance and impact resistance of an electromagnet device by a method wherein the thin film non-magnetic layer side of a spacer plate is so provided as to be contacted with the pole contact surface of one of a fixed core and a movable core. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic substrate 5b of a spacer plate 5 is brought to the upper side which is contacted with a movable core 3 and the thin film non-magnetic layer 5a is so provided as to be contacted with the surface of a fixed core 1 and attached to the movable core side surface of the fixed core 1 by a method such as soldering or laser welding. In accordance with the repeated times of impacts given by the movable core 3 at the time of attraction, abrasion is created on the surface of the spacer plate 5. However, since the very thin film non-magnetic layer 5a, which serves as residual magnetism preventing function, is protected by the relatively thick magnetic substrate 5b which maintains the impact resistance, the thin film non-magnetic layer 5a can remain on the fixed core 1 as a non-magnetic film for a long period.
